'Turbulent Sea' LED Lightbox with aluminium frame 480 x 760mm (Unique artwork, Edition of 1)
'Turbulent Sea' looks at spaces of becoming, blue the colour of manifestation. Spaces between different states of being, between the self and other, immersion and emergence, air and water, senses and dreams, excitement and fear, promise and acceptance, challenge and relaxation, a space of transition, of the possible. The deep ocean, vast and unrestrained, descended from the world-forming ocean of the Archaeon era to our own rising seas. A space of beauty but also environmental degradation, a space of depletion and destruction but also of restorative and sustainable practices. The open seas conjure up experiences of awe and the sublime, of eternity, of limitlessness, and of the unknown, the deep, stirring of the human imagination.
The lightbox was designed to allow light to spill out from the back, to represent shining a light on that which we dont know about, the more than 80% of the worlds Ocean that remains unexplored.
The draw for the winning ticket of Turbulent Sea will happen as soon as two hundred tickets have been sold. The winner will be emailed privately and published on this page. 'in bocca al lupo!'
